Place 1–9 — no repeats in row, column, or box
Sudoku is a logic placement puzzle. You get a 9×9 grid divided into nine 3×3 boxes. Some digits are given. Your job is to fill the rest so that every row, every column, and every box contains the digits 1 through 9 exactly once. You never need to guess on a well-formed puzzle — each digit is forced by elimination. This page is a free online sudoku you can finish in a coffee break, with New Puzzle when you want another board.

How to play Sudoku
- Tap an empty cell, then tap a number 1–9 to place it.
- Given digits (the clues) cannot be changed.
- A placement is invalid if that number already exists in the same row, column, or 3×3 box.
- Fill every cell correctly to finish. Use New Puzzle for a fresh board.
Tips
- Scan for a digit that is almost complete — the last empty in a box is often obvious.
- When stuck, pick a cell with few candidates and eliminate with rows and columns.
- Never need four guesses. If it feels random, a constraint is being missed.
